Hi folks,

My name is Jess, I use she/her pronouns and I am the current elected President of the UFV Student Union Society. I am grateful for the opportunity to work, learn and live on the unceded traditional territory of the Stó:lō peoples. I wanted to take this opportunity to welcome each of you to your Brand New SUS Website. We are confident that this new platform will allow students more opportunities to connect, learn and grow in ways that were not possible before, while also simplifying the student experience. If you have any comments, questions, concerns or ideas, don’t hesitate to reach out!

As we prepare to tackle another online semester during COVID, I hope each of you takes a moment to reflect on just how hard you’ve been working and continue to work. Being a university student is hard, but being a pandemic university student is next level.. Don’t forget to go be a little extra forgiving with yourself when you’re having a hard time (it's ok to not be ok sometimes!) but to also celebrate all the many wins you accomplish each day! As a student, if you need to speak with someone for support, you have several free options including UFV Counselling and EmpowerMe through StudentCare!

Your Student Union Society exists to serve the student community so if you are experiencing any issues with your post-secondary experience, our (digital) doors are always open and we want to hear from you!
