The UFV Student Union Society is run and directed by students!
Our Board of Directors are comprised of current UFV Students who are looking to make a difference in their school community. They review programming and planning, advocacy both on and off campus, and approve how the fees paid by students are used.There are 9 Student Representative-At-Large positions in addition to the Executive Committee and an Indigenous Representative.

ELECTIONS INFO
The UFV Student Union Society’s Board of Directors is composed of student representatives who are elected annually to steer the activities of students and ensure the Society is representative of current students.
This election is called by the current Board of Directors and typically runs during the Winter semester. All fourteen elected positions are open for students nominations and we encourage any student who is passionate about representing their peers to run.
The Society also often runs by-elections to fill any positions that are vacant in the Fall semester. By-elections run over a shorter period and typically take place in October. All Board of Directors’ terms run from May 1 to April 30 of the following year; the terms of directors elected at a by-elections still end in April.

+ PRESIDENT
The President is the main representative of SUS – this comes with a lot of responsibility and even more amazing opportunities! You’ll have opportunities to travel and network across Canada, meetings regularly with UFV decision makers and will lead the rest of the Executive Committee in planning out the coming year’s strategic prioritizes.
Kickback was a major project of our previous President, Nikiel Lal. This role is heavily involved in every department across SUS and has huge opportunities to create a lasting impact at UFV.
+ VICE PRESIDENT EXTERNAL
The Vice President External leads advocacy as SUS, which is a major part of our role within the university community. You’ll regularly work with students across British Columbia and Canada to formulate government asks and petition officials to make major changes that impact the post-secondary environment.
A previous Vice President External had the opportunity to sit down 1:1 with Justin Trudeau! Also, another VPE spearheaded a Fall Reading Break campaign on campus.
+ STUDENT REPRESENTATIVE AT LARGE
The SUS Board of Directors is composed of the four executive positions, nine representative At-Large positions, and one indigenous representative. All directors of the society are elected by the SUS membership.
The Board of Directors also has one non-voting position appointed by the Board that help provide oversight and continuity from term to term. Please refer to our Bylaws and [Ex-Officio Policy][1] for more information.
+ VICE PRESIDENT INTERNAL
Like numbers and policy? The Vice President Internal mainly works on governance and budgets, ensuring the Society is running appropriately, and making major decisions that impact the long-term direction of the Society.
This job mainly deals with the internal workings of SUS and has less outward involvement but is an amazing opportunity for an accounting/finance student, or someone who enjoys policy and professional writing. This role does have some technical aspects, so come prepared to learn!
+ VICE PRESIDENT STUDENTS
Ever find yourself thinking of cool events or opportunities for students but don’t have the resources to take your ideas anywhere? The Vice President Students has their own budget to put on the types of events and programming they want to see on campus and provides support to Clubs & Associations.
Our current Vice President Students works with multiple departments at UFV to ensure a variety of programming and wants to prioritize programming across all campuses! We hope the incoming VPS will have their eye on connecting with local business and providing programming in both Chilliwack and Abbotsford.
+ INDIGENOUS REPRESENTATIVE
The Indigenous representative sits on the board to represent the concerns and interests of Indigenous students and to contribute to the Society and Board’s commitment to decolonization and Indigenization.

A unique voting ballot will be sent to your student email. Make your voice heard by participating during the voting period.
