Everything You Need to Know About UFV-SUS U-Pass Program!
It is no secret that UFV is considered a commuter campus by most people's standards. Though we are working hard to change that, we also aim to support those facing the reality of a frequent commute.
Introduction to the U-Pass Program
By presenting a current U-Pass sticker (except during the grace period, two weeks from the start of the semester and no U-Pass sticker is required), students gain access to an entire public transportation network and various recreational facilities included with the U-Pass fee. UFVSUS U-Passes enable students to ride all BC Transit bus routes for free in Abbotsford, Chilliwack, and Mission (excluding the FVX66, but we are working to have that covered for U-Pass holders, too, we will have some exciting updates to share soon)!
Accessing Public Transportation with U-Pass
Students can, of course, use their U-Pass to commute to school. Still, it can also be used for any other type of trip, like a visit to the grocery store, catching a safe ride home after an event, going to a friend or family member's place, or any other excursion you see fit. You do you!
Additional U-Pass Benefits: Recreation Centers
On top of that, students also gain unrestricted access to the Abbotsford Recreation Centre, Matsqui Recreation Centre, and Mission Leisure Centre when they present their U-Pass. For our Chilliwack students, if you show your Campus Card at the Chilliwack Landing Leisure Centre or Cheam Leisure Centre, you will also receive a discounted price!
Environmental Impact of the U-Pass Program
Though the U-Pass program is designed to help students save money, it also benefits the environment. A primary goal of the U-Pass program is to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions and traffic by taking more single-passenger vehicles off the road. Students are encouraged to do their part and utilize their U-Pass whenever possible because the U-Pass fee of $42.62 gains UFVSUS members access to free, unlimited, and eco-friendly transportation for the remainder of the semester.
Obtaining Your U-Pass Sticker
So, where can you get your U-Pass sticker?
That's a great question, my friend. During office hours, feel free to stop by:
● Abbotsford Campus, Building S, Room S1109
● Chilliwack, CEP Campus, Building A, Room A1422
