Fellow UFV Students and SUS Members,
As highlighted through the
April 2020 Referendum, the SUS has been in long-term negotiations with the bus company to extend the Campus Connector contract and improve the service. These negotiations were postponed due to the results of the referendum; as you, our members voted against the fee increase to improve the service.
Due to Covid-19 (Coronavirus), UFV transitioned to an online-only format for the Summer semester, therefore the Campus Connector services and all related fees have currently
UFV has announced that the majority of courses will be delivered in an online format for the upcoming Fall Semester 2020. The SUS therefore will be suspending the Campus Connector Service for the rest of the year, bringing us to an eight-month halt of the service (May to December 2020). The Campus Connector Fees will therefore not be collected for the
Fall 2020 Semester.
The Board has made the decision not to extend the contract with the current company that provides the bus service, and with the support of The UFV procurement department, is currently working on a Request for Proposal (RFP). The SUS is hopeful that there will be a suitable proposal to publish by Summer 2020.
