EXTRA CURRICULAR CERTIFICATION
EARNED UPON MODULE COMPLETION

What is ALP?

We believe that UFV’s students will be the future leaders of Canada.

The purpose of ALP is to provide extra-curricular education as to the societal issues that UFV students will face as Canadian leaders. ALP provides all UFV students, particularly those in science, business, and faculties that generally do not study societal issues in detail, an opportunity to obtain insight into some of Canada’s pressing societal issues. The ALP program is a series of modules presented by community leaders and experts in various fields.

ALP aspires to create future leaders who will work to serve those less fortunate and advocate for positive change in society.

What will you learn @ ALP?

The learning outcomes of ALP program are two-fold.

First, ALP strives to provide students with a fundamental understanding of various societal issues. ALP’s presenters provide students with a street-level, expert view of societal challenges faced by Canada and its citizens.

Secondly, ALP seeks to create empathy among UFV student leaders for those marginalized in society as the result of the failings of our political and economic system.

Certification

Students who register for and complete the module, shall receive an extra-curricular transcript that will documenting the modules attended by the individual.
